HelioCampus Blackboard LTI 1.3 Configuration

 This document covers requirements for HelioCampus / Blackboard integration using LTI 1.3 standards defined by 1EdTech. A Blackboard Administrator working with a HelioCampus integration technician can complete requirements. There may be additional personnel required for unforeseen circumstances such as client network or server restrictions.

HelioCampus LTI 1.3 Tool

The HelioCampus Tool allows students and instructors the ability to view a HelioCampus course syllabus within a related course and complete assessment forms.

Register LTI 1.3 Tool on Blackboard

1. In Blackboard, an administrator should select System Admin, LTI Tool Providers

2. Click Register LTI 1.3/Advantage Tool

3. Enter the Application ID that is provided by HelioCampus, then click Submit

4. On the next page, you will see registration details. Make note of your Deployment ID for later

5. Update Tool Status to Approved

6. Click Submit. Once you submit the details you should start seeing the Tool in the list of LTI Tool Providers

7. Hover over the HelioCampus Assessment Tools, click the arrow, select Manage Placements

8. Click Create Placement

9. In the form you should enter;

   1. Label: HelioCampus Tools

   2. Description: HelioCampus Assessment Platform is a web-based assessment management solution that facilitates the collection and application of real-time assessment data.

   3. Handle: 1

   4. Availability: Yes

   5. Type: Course tool

   6. Allow student access: checked

   7. Target Link URI: https://<HelioCampus_URL>/index.cfm/page/AefisFramework.login?authenticatorcode=advantage

   8. Tool Provider Custom Parameters: If you want to land on a different page using this LTI link (Default is Syllabus Page), please put i.e “accessurl=AefisCourseSection.Assignments” into this parameter.

1. Click Submit

2. Please send your Blackboard URL and the Deployment ID securely to your HelioCampus integration contact.
