Introduction
Welcome to the HelioCampus Moodle LTI 1.1 Integration Guide. This document provides step-by-step instructions for configuring the integration between HelioCampus Assessment & Credentialing and Moodle using the LTI 1.1 standard.
HelioCampus LTI 1.1 Tool
The HelioCampus LTI 1.1 Tool allows students and instructors to access a HelioCampus Assessment & Credentialing course section within a related Moodle course.
Creating a Moodle External Learning Tool (LTI)
A Moodle Administrator must generate an External Learning Tool (LTI) within the institution's Moodle instance by following these steps:
1. Navigate to External Learning Tool (LTI) Settings

Log into Moodle as an Admin.

Navigate to Site Administration and select the Plugins tab.

Under the Activity Modules then select External tools > Manage tools.

Click the configure a tool manually hyperlink in the Add Tool box.
2. Configure the External Learning Tool (LTI) Settings
In the External Learning Tool (LTI) Settings dialog, enter the following details:
Note: Replace <HelioCampus_URL> with your institution’s HelioCampus Assessment & Credentialing URL.

3. Add the LTI Tool to a Course
The steps below will add the HelioCampus Tools link to a course, making it accessible to all enrolled users:

Navigate to the desired course.

Click Turn editing on.

Locate the topic or week where you want to add the tool.

Click Add an activity or resource.

Select External Tool from the list.

Enter a preferred Activity name.

From the Preconfigured tool dropdown, select HelioCampus Tools.

Click Save and return to course.
Once all steps are completed, return to the main Moodle guide to finalize the integration.
