Badges can be managed by Institution/College/Department Administrators and Program Coordinators by navigating to Main Menu > Credentials > Badge Manager.

Create a Badge
Once a badge has been awarded, the student will receive a badge notification via email to notify them that they have been awarded the badge. The Badge Settings article can be reviewed to learn more about the badge notification email.

Navigate to Main Menu > Credentials > Badge Manager and click +Add.

Via the Add screen, define the badge details. Once badge details have been added, click Submit. Once a badge has been created, the badge details can be edited as applicable.

Badge Code |
Required. Maximum 20 characters. Badge codes should be unique and used to easily identify badges. This code is necessary when utilizing the Badge Assertion Batch Process. |
Badge Name |
Required. As a best practice, badge names should be unique. |
Badge Description |
Required. Describe what the learner must achieve in order to have the badge awarded to them. |
Badge Image |
Required - file types PNG or SVG are accepted. Upload an image for the badge by either dragging and dropping the desired file or by clicking Browse to locate a file; the file size should not exceed 256k. For optimal display, images should be square (equal width and height) and the dimensions should be no smaller than 90 x 90 pixels. |
Keywords |
Keywords are optional although they can help users locate content easier. It is recommended to use simple words or phrases that are pertinent to the Badge’s topic. To add a keyword, type the word into the Keywords field. Matching keywords that have been previously created will display for selection or the typed word can be created as a new keyword. ![]() Keywords can be removed by clicking the X. ![]() |
Owner Type |
Required. The owner of a badge can be defined via the drop-down as the Institution, College, Department, or Program. |
Edit a Badge
Badges can be edited only if the Badge has not already been awarded to Students.

Navigate to Main Menu > Credentials > Badge Manager and from the expanded kebab menu, click Edit Badge.

Once all edits have been made, click Save Badge to implement the edits.
