The main menu provides quick access to platform functionality, including programs, courses, assessments, and more. Based on the logged-in user's assigned role(s), the menu uses role-based access control (RBAC), simplifying the interface and displaying only the platform functionality applicable to the user. For example, Instructors commonly see Courses, Assessments, and Reports because of the Instructor user role assigned to them.
The main menu is organized into categories that align with platform features and functionality. Selecting a category (1) will expand a sub-menu displaying related platform pages (2). The Recently Visited section (3) offers quick links to recently visited pages. Selecting a recently visited page will automatically navigate to it without needing to locate it in the main menu.
Menu Favorites
To add a menu item as a favorite, hover over a submenu item and click the heart icon next to it (1). Once at least one favorite is saved, My Favorites will appear at the top of the main menu (2). From there, click any item to navigate to that page, or click the delete icon next to an item to remove it from favorites (3). Once all favorites have been removed, the My Favorites menu item will not appear until a favorite is added.
User-Role-Based Access
Menu sections and their sub-sections are included below, with user-role-based access for each sub-section; sections and roles are listed in alphabetical order. If an expected menu item can’t be found, it might be due to the user’s role. Review the user’s role assignment(s) by navigating to the User Account Homepage and selecting Roles from the left-hand menu. If the correct role is assigned and an expected menu item still can’t be located, please contact HelioCampus Support.
